At all the following dive spots you will find the usual Angelfish, Bannerfish,
Damsels, Gobies, Wrasses, Clownfish, Butterfly Fish, Puffers, Triggerfish,
Stingrays, Parrotfish etc.. A variety of shrimps, crabs, snails and clams.
Plus corals of all kinds in abundance!
TG. Tandokrasa: Wall in combination with steep slope. Schools of various
fish, White and Black Tip Reef Sharks, Groupers, Sweetlips, Crocodile Fish, several
species of Nudibranches.
G.P.S. Point: A four metre submerged sea mound. Steep slope to north side,
flat bottom on south side. Lobsters, White and Black Tips, Moray Eels, schools of
Jackfish, Barracuda and Tuna. The occasional Hammerhead Shark also visits the reef.
TG. Toropinunga: Steep slope combined with steep wall on the south side. Schools
of Napoleon Fish, Humphead Wrasse, Blue Ribbon Eels, Stonefish, Bumphead Parrotfish and
an abundance of soft corals.
Gililawa Laut: Small bank reef about three metres under the surface. A fun dive
with a lot of big fish, schools of Jacks, Grey Sharks, Dogtooth Tuna, Lionfish and the
strange Crocodile Fish.
Tatawa Besar: Slope dive, spectacular soft coral garden, Mantis Shrimps, Lionfish,
Groupers, Sweetlips, Yellow Back Fusiliers and Black Snappers.
Batu Tatawa: Rocky islet pinnacle with steep wall, fantastic coral life and lot of
big fish, turtles, Napoleans, Reef Sharks, Giant Moray Eels, octopus. Currents usually strong.
Sabayor Kecil: Steep wall with sandy bottom at 30 metres. The nice wall is covered with
sponges and sometimes Manta Rays can be found at this spot.
Mentjeng Wall: Unpredictable cross currents, old lava flow which has submerged the
surrounding beach. The wall begins at 2 metres and drops to about 20 metres. Covered in black
coral, sea whips and anemones, plus some Oftcorals, various Nudibranches, Ghost Pipefish,
Cephalopods, Scorpionfish, Saron Shrimps, Toon Shells.
Sabolan Kecil: Nice slope dive, with two sea mounds. Large Gorgonian Fans, hard and
soft corals, usually visited by White and Black Tip Reef Sharks.
Gili Lawa Darat: Slope with sandy bottom at about 20 metres.
Yellow Wall: Huge wall on southern end of Rinca, sheer drop from 2 metres to 65 metres.
Covered in yellow coral, many soft corals, whips and hard corals. Good for night dive with
toxic fire. Urchins, Sea Apples, Orangutan Crabs and a variety of Nudibranches.
Nusa Kode: Small bank reef, great variety of soft corals, Sea Apples, Sea Urchins and
many species of Nudibranches, Manta Rays. A world class photographers favourite spot.
Pilar Steen: Steep wall covered with soft coral. Turtles, giant Moral Eels, Sea Apples and
several caves and swim-throughs. Big fish and Pelagics.
Cannibal Rock: Pinnacle in a deep bay on southern Rinca, covered in soft and hard corals,
also Sea Apples, Sea Urchins, Zebra Crabs and Coleman Shrimps, seahorses, Frogfish, octopus,
Decorator Crabs, Spanish Dancers plus schools of Pelagigs. Sometimes Manta Rays, Black and White
Tips and occasionally Minke Wales make an appearance.
Tiga Batu: Slope dive with sandy bottom at 20 metres. Nice bottom formation, groupers,
snappers and often visited by Manta Rays. Some species of Nudibranches.
Lehok Sera: Wall/Slope dive, soft and hard corals, a lot of big fish, Napolean Wrasse,
Giant Grouper, Bumphead Parrot Fish, Red Snapper, Lion Fish, turtle and schools of Jacks.
TNC Rock: Pinnacle of south coast of Komodo, in the channel between Komodo and Subawa,
many Pelagics, fast current up to five knots. Sharks favourite feeding ground.
Heavenly Wall: Very colourful reef, swift current up to five knots, best at slack tide.
Schools of Chevron and Yellowtail Barracuda, Red Snapper, Silvertip, Whitetip and Blacktip Sharks,
as well as Rainbow Runners, Oceanic Jacks and huge Black Manta Rays.
